This came in as a comment, but I like it and want to pull it up to the top. It blends nicely with a theme we all share here at the Sons of Liberty Tavern. We don’t care who or what you are, or where you come from. America is the nation where some of us are born Americans, and others can CHOOSE to be Americans. I often make nasty comments about China and India and other parts of the globe. Not that I have anything terrible against the people, but I do have something against their government policies that are meant to drive Americans into the ground. For me, America First.
This person made comment relating to the Buffalo Soldiers, who I recently referenced in a post. What I don’t understand is why black Americans choose to remain dead-loyal Democrats when it’s obvious the Democrats haven’t done much for black Americans. My hope? That the broad black middle class will start to see that having their money stripped away in taxes is not to their benefit. So join with us, and be Sons of Liberty.

How do you keep a people down? ‘Never’ let them ‘know’ their history.
Keep telling that history; read some great military history.
The 7th Cavalry got their butts in a sling again after the Little Big Horn Massacre, fourteen years later, the day after the Wounded Knee Massacre. If it wasn’t for the 9th Cavalry Buffalo Soldiers, there would of been a second massacre of the 7th Cavalry. Read the book, “Rescue at Pine Ridge,” and visit website/great military history, http://www.rescueatpineridge.com

I’d also suggest you explore the history of “Black” Jack Pershing. Yup, you can guess how he got that nickname. Pershing was one of my childhood heroes, growing up close to the military. Pershing, Patton, Grant and Lee. And of course, Old George, the founder of the tradition.

My Grandfather served with General John Joseph (Blackjack) Pershing in WW-I, Buffalo Soldier – ‘Captain’ Lee Jay Hicks, 317th Armor Train Division, France. Thank you for your comments, and recognition.
